Our reasons for becoming financial professionals are deeply personal. As the founder and president of Peak Retirement Planners, Paul R. Tencer believes this whole heartedly given his life experiences. At age 20, Paul lost his father to cancer. This sudden tragedy piled on an extensive mix of new personal and financial obligations at a very young age. The rigorous tasks of planning and consolidating the many financial items left for him and his two siblings changed Paul.
We are sensitive to the fact these unfortunate circumstances happen to many families. It’s important to have the best people and the best resources by your side for financial planning / life planning. In Paul’s case, he could have spent time self-loathing and wallowing in life’s challenges. Rather, Paul took time to self-reflect and generate a learning moment to create an opportunity for his future. With Paul’s original thought of medical school on the horizon, the loss of Paul’s hero during his time in college inspired him to change career paths. “My calling from up above became clear, to help families with their financial health. A financial diagnosis to guide others along their path toward financial success.” Paul firmly believes actions speak louder than words and he decided to put those words into motion.
Paul finished college earning his B.S. from Colorado State University and then began his journey within the financial services industry. When he's not working, Paul loves spending time with his wife Jen and daughter Madelyn. You may also find him on the golf course Saturday mornings.
Paul holds Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licenses Series 6, 22, 63 and 65 through LPL Financial. He also holds fixed, life and variable licenses. For over 15 years Paul has guided clients through multiple market cycles and major life events. He provides comprehensive investment strategies for the wealth accumulation phase and retirement distribution phase within clients' portfolios. The focus being to invest and manage clients' savings and strive to maximize income and optimize tax relief.
